This course grew from a desire to move away from what seemed to be a growing trend that yoga was about looking good in a leotard.

The primacy of the fitness culture has emphasised the role of asana as a route to flexibility and strength and as a goal rather than a process of self-enquiry and has overshadowed its deeper spiritual aspects.

The move towards creating an ideal ‘shape’ and away from yoga’s roots as a life practice has been well documented. We wanted to do something about this and create a teacher training course that returned to a simpler view, one of ‘undoing’ instead of ‘doing’ as Vanda Scaravelli’s philosophy encapsulates.

We see the practice of yoga as a radical act of change and transformation on a personal, societal and global level. A move away from the commercialisation and sexualisation of our art and science and a move towards meeting the social/political challenges of the day seems like a very tall order for a 500 hour course. You will just dip your toe into this ocean!

Yoga is a deep connection to life – this is what you will learn to communicate to your community on this course.
